Coatcount is an independent, free paint-quantity and tin-shopping planner for projects measured in metres and litres.

What it calculates

It sums measured rectangular surfaces, deducts openings, optionally adds a ceiling, and applies your coats, product coverage and allowance. It rounds the purchase to whole tins of one selected size and shows the surplus. Entered tin prices and transport charges can produce a quoted cost.

What goes into the estimate

All starting values are examples you can replace. We do not fetch retailer prices, infer a product’s coverage or recommend a coating system. Use the paint label to decide coverage and coats. Make separate plans for different products and colours.

How it is maintained

The calculator has checks for invalid dimensions, quantities, impossible opening deductions and missing active inputs. It runs locally in your browser. You can print or download a shopping list without an account.

Coatcount is not affiliated with the manufacturers linked in the planning guide. The site has no active advertising. Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate traffic and performance reports, with calculator inputs kept local. A publisher verification identifier is present for a proposed advertising application; it does not show ads or establish approval.
